Awagami has (very) limited stock of these amazing uncirculated 1968 calendar folios consisting of 12-different monthly Katazome prints on handmade washi. The calendar was designed by Takeshi Nishijima and made by Awagami friends 'Wazome Kogei' in Kyoto. Individual prints measure 11 x 14" and are suitable for framing as they're in perfect vibrant condition. The 'chiri' (kozo bark) folios have some slight age discoloration around their edges but there are no tears or damage. Mr. Takeshi Nishijima was a major figure among the Mingei (Folk Art) Movement, a 20th c. endeavor to preserve traditional Japanese arts & crafts. He was an art professor at Kyoto University, a well-known graphic/textile designer and designated as a Japanese "Living National Treasure" in 1956.
