This rich brown pigment has been used for waterproofing Japanese paper umbrellas since antiquity and recently kakishibu has come back into fashion as an eco-friendly colorant for clothing and accessories. The covers of these 3 book variations are all hand-dyed with multiple layers of kakishibu to bear a lovely brown pattern. Each book has 19 thick washi pages and may be used for drawing, collaging, stamping & journaling, as a photo album or as a unique guest book.
